The brief called for an open office split over two levels, adjoining the warehouse space. The design conveys a contemporary layering of materials, crowned by a defined roof canopy formed by the cantilevered office edge.
The building incorporates a single retail floor space and basement car park, with adjoining staff and meeting rooms. The main project features are the shop front display areas, cafe and children's play gym.
Multi Span Australia designed and constructed Oldmac’s pre-delivery centre in Kingston. The project includes an office building, separate kitchenette & breakout room, a workshop where aftermarket extras are added, automatic and manual car wash bays and a fueling facility.
Each of the main buildings was tilt panel constructed and the innovative design of the office provides a window into the workshop that's used for passing documents and quick communications.
Adapting to a changing brief was one of the challenges that the design team overcame and easily worked through.
The construction of stage two of the project was put out to tender which Multi Span won and we worked closely with the subcontractors that completed stage one on lighting and security which were commissioned via the new server room.
